On Friday 29th July 2016, the maiden edition of UNN Staff Awards took place at the Princess Alexandra Auditorium and Unity Hall, University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
The show was hosted by Tobe DaDiva and Lorenzo Menakaya of Lion FM. It kicked off with a performance by some University of Nigeria Staff. Nollywood greats like Desmond Elliot, Annie Idibia, Bryan Okwara and Veteran Obi Okoli presented awards to the winners. Artistes who performed on stage include Obiwon, Promise Amazing, John Bethel, Chimere, Ada Menakaya and Chen Emmanuel.
Taking home some of biggest nods were Professor Elsie Chizua Umeano who won 2 awards out of 4 nominations, Charles Chukwudozie aka Akionu, global scientist Professor F. N. Okeke amongst others.
